Salaam Microfinance bank has opened it’s first branch in the Coastal city of Mombasa.
The new branch located along Nkrumah Road will offer a comprehensive range of services, including business financing, savings accounts, and digital banking via the Salaam Pay App.
Speaking during the launch, Mombasa Governor Abdulswamad Nassir lauded the bank for the move assuring investors that his administration will ensure a conducive environment for businesses to prosper.
“The decision to invest in Mombasa affirms our city’s growing reputation as the commercial and logistics heart of the region. With Shari’ah-compliant financial solutions tailored to local needs, Salaam Microfinance Bank is now a valuable partner in our mission to empower small businesses, promote financial inclusion, and support our thriving entrepreneurial ecosystem.” said Nassir.
Adding “We welcome this timely investment and look forward to working together to secure a more prosperous future for our people.”
His sentiments were echoed by Mombasa senator Mohammed Faki who was also present during the event noting that he is ready to push for legislation to help in Shari’ah compliant banking.

“By you opening a branch here is a clear sign of the confidence that investors have in this city and as leaders we will work closely with you, you can always count on our support. Personally I’m ready and willing to help you in pushing any legislation that you think will be of beneficial to the sector and country at large” said Faki.
